The Literary Consultancy is a non-profit organisation and the oldest editorial consultancy in the UK, backed by Arts Council England funding. Their team of over 90 editors and readers covers fiction, non-fiction, memoir, short stories, and scripts. TLC is known for its ethical, transparent approach and its Free Reads scheme for low-income writers. Their primary service is a manuscript assessment with a detailed written report. They also offer a mentoring scheme (Chapter and Verse) and are a Guardian-recommended service.
